Jack Worthing keeps his town life separate from his country life by pretending to be his own (imaginary) brother, Ernest, when in town. When Jack's mischievous friend, Algernon, decides to visit Jack's home posing as Ernest, confusion follows. Mistaken identities can only be resolved through discovering the origins of a large black handbag!
