Beautiful Thing

Jamie, Ste and Leah live in neighbouring flats on a tough inner-city estate. Jamie lives in the middle flat with his pub manager mum, Sandra. He is experiencing problems at school, much to the chagrin of his gutsy mother who is too busy trying to hold down a relationship with Tony who is middle class but trying to earn 'street-cred' with the teenager. Ste, sporty and good looking, lives next door with his brother and alcoholic father. Leah, who has been excluded from school, lives on the other side and passes her time listening obsessively to the music of Mama Cass.
